Join the Plus Size debate

There has been some publicity in the media recently about the term “plus size” and whether it should be dropped. The debate has blown up on Twitter with celebrities and plus size models such as Tess Holliday giving their views.

We’re wondering what all the fuss is about? We’re proud to use the term. We don’t see it as a negative phrase to separate women from the rest. We see it as recognition to highlight beautiful women that haven’t received the recognition in the past. But no one can win really.

If you think about it, the term was created in order to acknowledge that there was a need for a different type of clothing. It provided confidence, acceptance and esteem to women all over the world that, finally, there was something for them. No more awkward shopping. And in fact, it has created jobs for women that never thought in a millions years they would be able to fulfill their dreams of modelling based on their body shape. There are so many fashion bloggers that talk about plus size clothing alone which have gained exposure and increased confidence and self esteem. It has helped so many women. So why shoot it down now?

All in all we’re glad it is being talked about. Because it is providing more awareness for the plus size market and women who fall under this category. It is giving women the opportunity to expand their views and talk about something that has always been somewhat of a taboo and embarrassing subject.

We’re all beautiful. No matter what size or shape. Embrace yourself.
